It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Volker Bernardi, after a sudden, short illness. Volker had been Secretary General of the World Flying Disc Federation for many years, and a member of the IWGA Executive.
He was a highly respected sports lawyer and international sports administrator who generously offered his knowledge and advice to many in the world of sport, including FISav. His openness to discussion and his invaluable suggestions made him a trusted voice in the global sports movement. Volker had a real commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and integrity in sport. But, more than that he was a true friend and mentor.
The International Savate Federation extends our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. We will miss his presence, his friendship and his love of our sport.
