The General Assembly of the Savate Confederation of Africa (CASavate) was held at the Hotel Faidherbe, Dakar, on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Ten countries took part in this General Assembly: Algeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritius, Mali, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal.
The following executive committee was appointed:
President: Alphousseyni DJIBA, Senegal
Vice-President: Abdelkrim EL HILALI, Morocco
Secretary General: Mrs. Maureen SHEIK BAJEET, Mauritius
Tresoirer: Papa Junior Mody CISSOKO, Senegal
President of the Technical Commission: Ibrahim KONATE, Mali
A real motivation to put Savate back to Africa in the best possible condition for its proper development was noted. To this effect, the new president, Mr. Djiba expressed a firm commitment to make every effort to:
- strengthen Savate in the member countries of Confederation
- set up mechanisms for regular training of coaches to raise the technical level of Savate in Africa
- to ensure good management of the training of the Afican officials and their presence in the international competitions
- organize regular continental competitions
- organize regular meetings of the bureau
- introduce Savate into other African countries as has been done in Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
The GA gave a mandate to the president to re-examine all the texts (Statutes and Rules Interior) of the Confederation with a view to their adoption as soon as possible.
The presence of all member countries in the 2019 African Championship in Mauritius is an imperative for the African Confederation.
