In Savate Boxe Française, some champions seek the spotlight—others build lasting legacy.
This month, the Fédération Internationale de Savate honours a figure who has done both, with consistency and humility: Ibrahim Konaté.
A Career Built on Excellence
Over more than two decades, Ibrahim Konaté has established himself as one of Savate’s most consistent and durable competitors.
His progression is exemplary:
• French Champion (2001, 2002)
• European Champion (2003)
• French Elite Champion (2005)
• World Finalist (2005)
• World Vice-Champion (2009)
He reached the pinnacle of the sport with:
• World Champion (2011) representing France
• World Champion (2017) representing Mali
And confirmed his longevity with:
• African Champion (2018)
• Savate Pro World Belt (2025)
A record defined by longevity, consistency, and sustained world-level performance.
A Respected Competitor
Known for his tactical intelligence, technical precision, and mental strength, Konaté has long been seen as a “champion in the shadows”—focused on performance over exposure, and respected throughout the Savate community.
A Global Contributor
Since 2019, he has served as an ambassador for the Fédération Internationale de Savate, contributing to the sport’s development worldwide. His roles include:
• Mission lead for Central America
• National Coach of Mexico
• Technical leadership in Colombia
• President of the African Technical Commission
• Member of the FISav Board, representing Mali
Beyond the Ring
While he has explored other combat disciplines, they remain secondary to his core commitment to Savate. He is also the founder of “Realest pour les Vrais” (REALEST), a brand promoting authenticity, discipline, and earned success.
Committing to Others
After a long involvement with his club in Sarcelles, France, in 2014, Konaté founded K Team, an organization dedicated to supporting young people through sport.
His approach goes far beyond physical training:
Developing confidence
Instilling discipline
Encouraging self-expression and public speaking
Initiatives like "Boxe avec les Maux" illustrate this commitment to using Savate as a tool for education and empowerment.
A Lasting Example
Ibrahim Konaté represents the essence of Savate: excellence, commitment, and transmission.
More than a champion, he is a reference for the present and a model for the future. ________________________________________
