The international canne de combat workshop was organized by FISav in collaboration with the hosts the Prague Canne club, led by Jindřich Zeman. The workshop was run by Julien Falconnet, supported by Nicole Holzmann, Thomas Horstmeyer and Gerhard Schmitt.
Participants came from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and Serbia. The main focus was on refereeing, judging and how to reflect these aspects in assaut, and 7 of the participants were Savate international referees who came to get complementary skills in canne refereeing. On the afternoon of the second day, the group was split in two - athletes and officials - and assauts were organized on two areas where all referees could practice both judge role and referee role, in real fight situations.
The seminar was very successful, with positive feedback, and real progress both in understanding and practicing. The organisers would like to thank to all participants, Julien for his tremendous job as teacher and referee, Nicole and Thomas for their massive insight and experience as competitors, the Fédération Internationale de Savate for making it possible, and their teammates from Canne Club Prague and Canne Club Černolice.
