The annual International Arbitrage Seminar represents a vital step in the development of high-quality refereeing and judging in Savate. This year, the seminar will take place at the Savate Summer Camp, Terme Olimia, Slovenia from 17 to 21 June 2026, bringing together officials from across the international community for an intensive and structured training programme.
The seminar will be led by Head of FISav Arbitrage, Maja Odzic. Over five days, national referees and judges will take part in both theoretical and practical sessions designed to strengthen their mastery of the rules, improve decision-making, and refine their positioning and consistency in competition situations. This immersive environment ensures that participants align with international standards and expectations.
Beyond technical improvement, the seminar offers a unique opportunity to take the international arbitrage examination. Successfully passing this exam allows officials to access the FISav international classification, a recognition that confirms they possess the skills, qualifications, and experience required to officiate at both national and international competitions. The classification also clearly defines the roles they are authorised to perform and the level of competitions at which they may serve.
Officials included in this international classification may further be called upon to support competitions organised by other national Savate federations, subject to the agreement of the President of the requesting federation. In such cases, travel and accommodation expenses are borne by the requesting federation, reinforcing both the mobility and the value of internationally recognised officials.
Participation in this seminar is therefore not only an individual progression pathway, but also a strategic investment for national federations. By sending their officials, federations enhance the quality, credibility, and consistency of officiating at both national and international levels.
