Viktor Lovászi and the Hungarian Savate Federation, who organized the European Savate Assaut Championships can be very proud of their efforts. The organisation of the event was very good, and has set the bar high for the future.
The Championships were held at the "Vasas" Sports Centre in Budapest, from 15th to 18th October. The weigh-in took place on Thursday and the assauts began on Friday morning - 8 categories for women and 8 categories for men were contested at these championships.
With three rings and a good team of officials, the pools were completed by Saturday lunch-time. The quarter-finals and semi-finals took place in the afternoon. The Saturday evening opening ceremony included a dynamic demonstration of canne and a view of the martial art of the region. Then, the finals were held in atmosphere of excitement and adrenaline.
