The European Youth Championships in Savate Assaut took place in Weiz, Austria from 21st - 25th July 2022. The youth championships are open to athletes aged 15 to 17 years, in 17 categories. Boys categories range from under 48kg to over 85kg, girls categories range from under 48kg to over 75kg. The level of the athletes was very high, with bouts showing excellent variety of skills, energy and determination.

The French team, with their strength in depth, had a very successful championships, winning 10 gold medals. Belgium, Croatia, Hungary and Serbia also took golds. In the European Youth Cup for athletes aged 13 & 14 years, golds were awarded to Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland and Italy.
The Weiz City Council was represented by Christof Prassl, Councilor responsible for Sports and Leisure, who welcomed the delegations, and participated in the medal ceremony.
