We recently received the sad news that one of the early pioneers of Savate in Italy, Professor Italo Manusardi has died at the age of 90 years.
In 1939, at the age of 14, he began his sporting career, under the guidance of Mario Zirotti and his own father, Arrigo Manusardi. He quickly distinguished himself in youth wrestling tournaments.
After the war, he returned to Italy in 1946, where he worked with his father Arrigo and teachers Carlo Oletti and Osvaldo Roveda.
After the death of his father in 1967, he continued to teach young people the values of French Boxing - Savate. In 1968, he founded the "Ecole Nationale de Boxe Francaise" EBNF.
That year, he was awarded the title of Professeur de Boxe Française et Canne, by the Comité National de Boxe Française in Paris. He was also awarded Gant d'Or by the Ligue Royale Belge de Boxe Française.
