Sixty officials, coaches and athletes from 6 countries - Croatia, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine - attended an International Seminar for Judges and Referees in Rugvica (Croatia), on 5th & 6th February 2022. The seminar was organised by the Croatian Savate Federation (HSS) and the Savate Club "Silver Eagle" Rugvica, and hosted by the President of the Arbitrage Commission of the HSS, Mr. Hrvoje Velić and the president of the HSS Mr. Predrag Šimunec.
The seminar was led by Ms. Maja Odžić, head of the Arbitrage Commission of the Federation Internationale de Savate. FISav President, Dr. Julie Gabriel, was also present. Attending such a seminar is very important for judges, coaches and competitors. Everyone renews their knowledge, hears new rules, shares experiences, situations… Questions are asked, and queries are resolved. For a novice judge, the seminar is important for learning rules and gestures, encountering new situations and learning how to react in them. Coaches and competitors learn about the work of the referees and the judges - how competitions are scored, and the role of the referee in ensuring the rules are followed.
Participants also had the opportunity to attempt the theory examination and the first part of the practical examination of the FISav international judge/referee qualification. Thank you to Mr Salvatore Valeri of the Fight1 Italia Savate Federation for assisting with the examinations.
After the seminar, the Croatian Federation and the Silver Eagle club thanked the friends who help and support the work of the club, including Mr. Hrvoje Kišasondi (Austrian Federation), Mrs. Željka Jarec Bukal (coach of the HSS national team), Nenad Šarec (selector of the HSS national team) and Mr. Predrag Šimunec (selector of the combat national team and president of the HSS). The seminar was a combination of experience, knowledge, education, fun, sightseeing, laughter, and friendship.
