On 5th September 2025, 23 year old Denys Vadimovych Furtas was killed while performing an operational-combat mission in the city of Kupyansk, in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. Denys was a talented Savateur, who represented Ukraine several times at international level. In 2021, he won the world championship in the 70-75kg category for athletes aged under 21 years.
From 2020 to 2024, Denys studied at the Educational and Scientific Institute No.1 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. During this time, he became the pride of the institute and a role model for his classmates. In addition to his world champion title in Savate, Denys was a master of sports of Ukraine in kickboxing.
