The Senegal Savate Championships took place on Saturday, August 13th in Dakar. The competition of nine matches included one women's bout.
The focus of the event was to prepare for the World Assaut Championships, allowing the technical staff to assess the performance of the athletes selected for this event.
After the World Championships, the CNP plans to organize another event in combat and assaut to prepare for the African Championships and the World Combat Championships.
During the week before the championships, the Wendy Faure (France) ran a seminar for national trainers and officials. The national technical director of Savate in Senegal, Francois Xavier Preira said the course "has completely revolutionized the French boxing in Senegal. We were not up to date with some changes" he said, and Wendy Faure has enabled the participants to understand what is done internationally.
