The 8th annual open competition in Tokyo, was held on 29th April 2018. 25 fighters from Australia, German, France, Singapore, and of course Japan attended this event and fought almost 30 assaut matches.
In each category, all fighters did their best and showed good assaut. Especially in -70kg male category, veteran savateurs of Australia, Singapore and Japan performed technical, strategical and exciting fights, so much so that spectators were breath-taken. And also, many veteran fighters in each category recorded good results in this competition.
This competition was also the first opportunity for new judges/referees. We had a small judge/referee seminar on the evening of 28th April, and some of attendee worked as officials in the Tokyo Open 2018.
