Dr Julie Gabriel, President of FISav, accompanied by Gilles Le Duigou, Vice-President, and a delegation traveled to Turkey to support the Turkish Federation of Savate : Savate ve Canne Federasyonu in its work of structuring and development of our sport in this great country, and also to affirm the importance of recognition of the Turkish federation of Savate by government authorities in Turkey.
Over two days of meetings with the SCF Management Committee, great progress was made in defining the areas of work for the SCF. In the coming days, the President of the SCF, Mr. Kibaroglu will file the application for recognition of the federation he heads with the Ministry of Sports. He was hopeful that the application will be accepted. The SCF currently represents 17 clubs spread through the major cities of Turkey.
Several seminars have been held in recent months, with the formation of dozens of coaches and officials . Recognition of SCF by the sports authorities of Turkey will allow the SCF to have the means to participate in FISav competitions. The presence of the President of the FISav was, according to officials of Savate in Turkey of great importance. The President stated that she would be ready to meet Turkish sport authorities to support the request of the SCF. The SCF is palnning an international gala in the coming months in Alanya, a coastal city in southern Turkey, to support its application to the Department of Turkish sports.
