Savate in Türkiye continues to grow at an impressive pace, as demonstrated by the successful organisation of the Turkish Savate Mini, Star and Youth Championships held recently in Istanbul. The national championships brought together 210 young athletes from across the country, including 130 male competitors and 80 female competitors, representing 16 provincial Savate teams. The event took place over four days and highlighted both the increasing popularity of Savate among young athletes and the federation’s commitment to high organisational standards.
The Turkish Federation emphasised the important role of international cooperation and education in its continued progress, noting that the experience and expertise shared through collaboration with FISav have helped guide the federation toward becoming “an exemplary federation in Türkiye.”
The championships featured young athletes competing across multiple age divisions, creating an energetic atmosphere and providing valuable experience for the next generation of Turkish Savate practitioners. The strong participation of female athletes also highlighted the growing inclusivity and accessibility of Savate throughout the country.
Over recent years, Türkiye has continued to strengthen its national Savate structure through regular competitions, youth development initiatives, and technical advancement. Events such as the Mini, Star and Youth Championships play a crucial role in identifying emerging talent while promoting the core values of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship that define Savate.
