The World Assault Championships and the World Canne de Combat Championships began on 7th September 2016 in the small, but beautiful town of Varaždin (Croatia). More than 350 participants (athletes, officials and entourage) were welcomed to the Arena Varaždin. With athletes from 40 countries and 4 continents, these championships had the largest number of entries to date.
With four rings and a good team of officials the playoffs were over by mid Saturday afternoon. The opening ceremony magnificently showed all the nations present. After which, the finals followed in a climate of excitement, adrenaline and excellence. All results are here

Of course, apart from the competition, there is always much more work - the General Assemblies of FISav (international federation) and the CESav (European federation), the elections of the Steering Committees and the presidential elections also took place.
