Congratulations to the Viroflay club and its president Pedro Da Gloria for their commitment to this event. Organizing an international gala in honor of a missing teacher, a lover of French Boxing who was a precursor in the development of our sport is not easy. The challenge has been met.
Our sport has evolved, on the same day there were several big international galas, and it was not easy to attract athletes from 11 different countries including the presidents of the Japanese and Spanish federation who also entered the ring.
The Mayor of Viroflay came to open the event brilliantly and his assistants stayed with us until the end. A total of 82 competitors presented themselves at the foot of the ring and 61 bouts were contested including 3 international combats.
Two world champions, France's Noa Roussy and Japan's Mariko Hara and European champion, Bulgarian Petya Staneva took part.
The vice-president of the international federation, Gilles Le Duigou, did us the honour to come and present awards.
Thank you all for this warm participation. Thanks also to the Viroflay athletes who organized the splendid demonstrations of canes. Bulgaria is interested in taking courses with them before the next World Championships.
Finally, here are the medal winners of this open 2018:
Best fighter, Spanish Miguez Manuel
Best female stylist, the Japanese Mariko Hara
Best stylist man, the Japanese Kenta Funayama
