Fourteen World Combat finals took place between October and December 2009. The French team still dominates the men's categories, but as the standard rises around the world, the women's categories are now harder to predict. |
One of the closest fights of this season was the -52kg where the superb Japanese fighter, Mariko Hara, defeated Heloise Thoroude of France. Hakim Abdelaoui (France), regained his -60kg title after three years interrupted by injuries. Julie Burton (France) again showed her dominance in the -65kg category. The category winners are listed below. Full results are available in Official Documents, and photos in the Photo gallery.
